Now, the neophyte is finally ready to be initiated into the sacred mysteries of wine. And Wine Manners doesn’t disappoint. After some tortured analogies comparing wine “customs” to “ham and eggs” and “liver and bacon,” we get to the “red meat,” er “wine” of the booklet.

What follows is a “just the facts” review of the who, what, where, how and why of the main wine categories. The design helps tell the story with indications of the shapes of bottles and glasses by type.

It’s “Wine for Dummies Lite” from a time where no one owned up to being a dummy. Still useful for beginners today.
